Dear Nigel,
Who invented golf? My wife asked me recently who invented golf and I must say I did not know. I was told by our local Vicar that golf is an evil , vile thing invented by the Devil and all who play golf, particularly on a Sunday, will be damned for all eternity! On the other hand my friend Eric says that golf was invented by the Egyptians as proven by the building of the pyramids which obviously were originally where they put the Tees. Elsie at the pub says that Golf was invented by a Scottish tosser called Peter McAlice!
We all look forward to your wise words to put an end to this tedious debate.
