Dear Mo,

I have just noticed that there will be a new President of America in a few days time. This of course is a big change for the world and it is worrying me somewhat. As a man who understands the challenges of global power and the fine balances that must be struck in international relations how do you think we should respond to the new President in our everyday lives ?

My husband says that it makes no difference what we do because Mr Trump doesn’t care about anything apart from money and his own well being.

Obviously we argue constantly about this issue, I feel that Mr Trump has been elected by the 250 million or so adults of America and therefore should be given the respect he deserves. If he completely messes the world up and destroys our way of life so be it.

Eric our neighbour, who incidentally has just purchased a new lawn mower, feels that Trump is a gangster moron and the powers of darkness have finally got hold of the reigns of power and we are all doomed!

What do you think ?

My Dear Mrs May,

The great Prophets over the ages have taught us much about how we should deal with major changes in our lives.

The bible says :

Isaiah 13:9 – Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.

So if you are  a sinner you may have a bit of a problem.

Personally my biggest issue with Armageddon and the Apocalypse is that afterwards who the fuck is going to mow the greens ?

A good friend of mine once said:

“All governments suffer a recurring problem: Power attracts pathological personalities. It is not that power corrupts but that it is magnetic to the corruptible.”
Frank Herbert, Chapterhouse: Dune

Meanwhile, to be honest try this:

“In BANKSY we trust.”
Colin Tegerdine, You Can’t Google Life

Don’t worry be happy.

Mo

Ps: What sort of lawn mower did Eric purchase ?
