Oxford VOM’s 2026 – Vanessa Vantastic !!!!!

In the searing heat of The Serengeti  the Oxfordshire countryside the bold VOMs strode forth for the Summer VOMs Meeting 2026. The press were absent surprisingly, mostly because Bob Dearsley was not in attendance this year, but a woman from the Oxford Gazette did turn up but apparently only because she left her pitching wedge on the 18th green last week.

After a gruelling 18 holes the mighty Vanessa Hitchin stood tall with a very impressive 38 points, she addressed the Players and a couple of confused passers by :

” Where is the Trophy ???” was the Champion’s opening question , which hung in the air for a while as the VOM’s looked at each other before applauding Venessa’s first major victory.

The prize giving went off without too much drama and ideas were exchanged on the subject of future VOMs tournaments in Windsor, Spain and of course Bournemouth.

Allan Boothroyd promised to explore a Burnham Beeches autumn event which was welcomed by the attending VOMs and following generous distribution of Lager and cooling liquids Dougie Ogilvie called proceedings to a close.
