As complexity goes Quantum Entanglement used to be considered quite complicate until now. The Portugal Tour 2026 , it has now been announced, is more complicated, but sadly most people have now completely lost interest but we will persevere anyway.

The Smallos Biggos Composto took place over the full 6 rounds of golf in the Portugal Tour. in 2 of the rounds 14 players competed for The Peter Crowhurst Celebration Trophy and in 3 of the rounds 10 players fought it out for  The Biggos Composto.

The other 3 rounds completed the Smallos Biggos Composto.

Try and keep up at the back !

As we know rookie Steve Bizley triumphed in both of the other competitions would he complete the treble ??

Day 1 at Laguna opened the Tour with Hoppy Dearsley and Tony D (no relation) playing with 2 Swiss gentlemen who are both now recovering well. The day was windy and chilly, scoring was low but rookie Steve crept in with Chilly to take first and second place.

Day 2 at Pinta where a low slope rating made life a little tricky , saw Chilly and Steve maintain their dominance.

Day 3 at Vila Sol, disaster struck only 1 Buggy ! The fight was short and quite violent but Tony and Dougie armed with a seven and four iron respectively drove off in victorious comfort. Further trauma later in the day with rain and high winds, Chilly started to faulter , Hoppy Dearsley started playing golf and Steve held his nerve.

Day 4 at Pinal, the pressure mounted as did the wind. Steve and Clive held on but Chilly’s fine form was sliding away.

Day 5 at Salgados. All these wins and places for The Bizley were starting to take their toll on his handicap. As they stood on the first Tee at The Sports and Sailing Club Steve was playing off 11 !

At the end of the 5th round  Steve was 6 shots in the lead from Clive, Dougie 2 shots further back and Chilly hanging on 12 shots off the pace. As they calculated the scores and handicaps for the final round at Millennium Steve would be playing off 14, Clive 18, Chilly 19 and Dougie 30 , Biffa 34 and Tony 36. This was still wide open. Dougie was taking bets well into the night !

Day 6, Millennium lay before them !

After the opening 9 Steve was on 165 , Clive 165, Dougie 160 and Chilly 158. The pressure was mounting.

The back 9 was going to be tight and as the leading group walked off the 18th, which they all parred, it was Hoppy Dearsley who had the biggest smile !

Dougie had pulled himself into 2nd place and Steve had slipped into 3rd. Biffa Amos won the last day with a magnificent 37 points and Tony D was very pleased as the bleeding had stopped from the injury he had received during the Tour Quiz three days before.

The final round also incorporated the Sir Michael King Medal Challenge, just to liven things up a little , and the mighty Biffa Amos swooped in to pick up this major victory.

The presentation at Crowhurst Towers took its regular format with our sponsors Super Bock providing refreshments until unbelievably supplies ran out quite abruptly and some of the players had to move on to red wine ! The media were informed.

Dearsley received the new Smallos Biggos Trophy with his usual modesty:

“Yeh ! Wow ! Who ! Thank you chaps , Great Tour , Great Week and I must thank The Breakfast Fairy with out whom………………!”

Dougie Ogilvy picked up his first Portugal Tour Trophy winning the Super Bock Handicap Steaks and Biffa Amos triumphed in the popular Conference Pears Competition.

Tony D was victorious in both Par 3 competitions and Dougie had another win in the 2026 Maciera Par 5 Struggle.

When it came to the infamous Champagne Moment once again , as it was in 2025, Tony D stood head and shoulders, or as it occurred, laid down head and shoulders above all else and collected the Trophy for his magnificent fall during the Saturday night quiz.  there are no more details available.

The celebrations went on into the coffee with brandy stage and the final words will be with our Chairman MK Seve of SEVE BET :

“Where has everybody gone ??!!”
