In a major announcement today it was revealed that MK Seve , CEO of SeveBet and benevolent entrepreneur, was doubtful for this year’s Portugal Tour but was still keeping his options open as the Tournament approaches.

Tony Dearsley (no relation) has withdrawn from the Tournament due to contractual issues with the PGA, LIV and the Spanish Health Service but he is hopeful of making an appearance later in the year.

His Caddy , Terry, commented:

“ Tony is gutted that he is missing this magnificent event, particularly as the Spanish Government has invested over 20,000 Euros in developing his swimming pool complex  golf swing !”

A statement released from the SeveBet press office  stated that MK was “comfortable” following knee surgery but the recovery process may preclude MK from competing in the 2024 Tournament, which he convincingly won in 2018 and 2019.

A prominent Knee Surgeon Dr Trim DeBush was contacted for comment:

“No , I’m a Tree Surgeon, it is a mistake , Now leave me alone ! Idiot”

MK himself was not available for comment but Tournament Director Hoppy Dearsley was:

“The situation is fluid. As you will understand more Players have been signed up for the 2024 Tour but the option for MK to join at the last minute is still open.

We are in constant touch with his medical team and his Nurses and have contingency plans ready if required.”

Meanwhile two new names were revealed by an excited Nigel Carby, recently promoted to Public Relations Consultant:

“I can now reveal that two new players will be on the Old Course First Tee in May.

Firstly a very experience golfer and longest drive contender Mr Charlie Bend has signed up for an undisclosed fee.”

Charlie was quick to comment :

“I am honoured to be involved with the Tour this year.” Said Charlie. “I have been in strict training for some time now and I also played a bit of Golf recently. The quality of the field this year is legendary I believe I am up for the challenge !”

Uncle Nigel, for it is He , continued:

“Also joining the Tour for the first time will be Julian Winch, World Cruise Champion and Motorcycle enthusiast. Julian is only available for the first 3 days of the Tour but is fully expecting to make his mark in this esteemed company.”

Julian then stood to address the gathered journalists:

“Well when the window of opportunity arrived I jumped at the chance. I fly back from the Seychelles on the Monday and then off to Singapore the following Sunday so it fits into my schedule perfectly.

I was particularly impressed with the fact that Super Bock are a main sponsor and I am looking forward to getting involved with it, and them, obviously in a responsible manner.”

Big K Shorrocks welcomed the new Players and wished MK Seve a swift and timely recovery.

With that the event drew to a close with Hoppy Dearsley explaining that schedules and  competitions would be announced very close to the start date when the final contingent would be finalised.
