John Miles and the boy Shakespeare hold off masterful Shorrocks but  champ Miles grabs the boat !!!

The weather did not look promising but the brave 20 arrived in Yorkshire ready for the challenge. two days later 5 players lay by the wayside but the Newark faithful held their nerve and last years Champion ,John Miles, retained his crown.

Last years winner banged in 40 points on day 1 which gave him a lead no one was going to catch. Chilly, Julian and Aldo could not match the pace after John’s win at Scarborough and although Dave Simmo and former Champion Brian S did their best it was not enough. The man on form Kevin “Big K” Shorrocks won the day on Monday , and the Super Bock Steaks, but steady John Miles was there again in the top 3 everyday.

The PCC was gathered up by Dave Simmo with his very slim victory at Hornsea and John Miles won The Head Banger, strangely played at Scarborough this year, with a huge 40 pointer.

New boy Ian Kill commented after his first appearance in Bridlington:

“It was a great experience. Some of the former Champions gave me very good advice on all sorts of things, shame none of it was about golf ?!”

2015 Champion Tony Bryan met with the press after his Flamborough Head round:

“Well I’m off to Turkey boys, plenty of room on my Jet if anyone wants to join us  ! see you all next year .”

John Miles was not available for comment but reporters caught up with 3rd place man and Super Bock Steaks  winner Kevin Shorrocks:

“Well we thought we would get wet but we stayed dry, how good is that.

Some of the players could not take the pace but is has been a long season and even I was feeling a little weary on the final furlong.

I must say I and very pleased with my Super Bock win and look forward to playing for the PCC again later in the week. See you all in the Old Town next year !”
